Warranty and Service Terms

Parts and Labor Warranted 30 to 90 Days as Stated on Your Invoice  |  Owner-Operated  |  Licensed, Bonded and Insured in Washington

This page sets out the warranty for the work and the terms under which every job runs. It is published in full rather than summarized because the useful version of a warranty is the one with the exclusions.

The short version: parts and labor are warranted for 30 to 90 days as stated on your invoice. The term varies by job and part, so check the number on yours.

What is warranted

Parts and labor are warranted for 30 to 90 days as stated on your invoice. Warranty excludes misuse, neglect, power surges, improper installation, or unrelated failures.

Two practical notes on that. The term is not the same on every job, so the number on your invoice is the one that applies. And the exclusions are the ordinary ones: the warranty covers the repair that was done, not a different fault that appears later, not damage that came from outside the machine, and not a failure that traces back to misuse or a bad installation.

Older appliances and pre-existing weakness

This one matters more than it looks, because most of this work is on machines that have been in service for years. The term, as written:

Due to the age and condition of appliances, certain components may be brittle or weakened. During normal diagnostic or repair procedures, these parts may fail without fault in workmanship. SD Appliance Inc is not responsible for failure of pre-existing weakened or deteriorated components during standard service procedures. Any additional required repairs will be communicated to the customer for approval prior to proceeding.

In plain terms: on an old appliance, a clip, hose, or fitting can fail simply because it is old and something touched it. That is not a workmanship failure, and it is not covered. What you are promised instead is the second half of that paragraph, which is that nothing further gets done about it without your approval.

Diagnosis and additional work

Diagnosis reflects conditions at time of service. Additional issues may be discovered. All additional work or parts require customer approval before proceeding.

This is the same commitment that appears on every service page, in its original form. A diagnosis is a picture of the machine on the day. If something else turns up once a panel is off, the work stops, and you decide.

The service call fee

The service call/diagnostic fee is non-refundable and covers travel, inspection, and diagnostic time, whether or not a repair is approved.

It is $89, and it is credited toward the repair if you go ahead: non-refundable means it is not returned to you if you decline the repair, not that it is charged twice. What it buys and what drives the price of the repair that follows are covered on the appliance repair cost page.

Payment terms

Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late balances may be subject to a 1.5% monthly finance charge (18% APR) or the maximum allowed by law.

An invoice receipt is sent after each job is complete. Keep it. It is the document that carries the warranty term for that specific repair, and it is what any future claim runs on. It also records what was diagnosed and what was replaced, which is worth having if the same appliance gives trouble again later.

Limits of liability

SD Appliance Inc is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from appliance failure, delays, or service outcomes.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any disputes shall be handled in Spokane County, Washington.

Two things this page can answer

Making a claim

If a repair fails inside its warranty period, call (509) 866-6767. Sergei finds the invoice, confirms the job is inside the term, and comes back out. Other ways to reach him are on the contact page.

The warranty follows the appliance rather than the address. If you move and take the machine with you, a return of the same fault is still covered. A different fault or damage that occurred while the unit was being moved is not. Where it is not obvious which of the two you have, a service call establishes it first.

Two warranty terms run at once, and the invoice says which

The 30 to 90 days above are the warranty period for the work. Separately, a good share of parts carry their own manufacturer warranty, and it is often longer. Roughly half run for 90 days, and roughly half run for a full year, depending on the brand and the part itself. Most electronic components come with a year.

Which term applies to your part is written on your invoice at the time of the repair, so there is nothing to look up later and nothing to take on trust. The two terms cover different things: the 30 to 90 days above covers the work, and a manufacturer part warranty covers the part. What that means for labor on a claim made after the first term has run out is confirmed with you at the time rather than assumed here.

A question about a repair you have already had

If something you had repaired is not right, call (509) 866-6767 and say when the work was done. Have your invoice ready, because the warranty term for that job is printed on it.

You will be talking to the person who did the repair.
