Appliance Repair in Hayden, ID
Owner-Operated | Same Rate as Spokane, No Distance Surcharge | Open 7 Days | Bonded and Insured

If the refrigerator that came with a nineties house has finally gone, the range has one working element left, or the dishwasher is leaving grit on everything, you are on the right page.
Hayden is the farthest of the fourteen communities with a page here, and it is charged at exactly the same rate as the shortest job on the map. No distance surcharge, no minimum job size.
SD Appliance is Sergei Dergunov, working out of the South Hill since 2020 and repairing appliances since 2013. Call (509) 866-6767.
A city that was mostly built in one decade
Hayden has an unusual housing profile, and it explains most of the appliance work here. Nearly a third of the homes in the city, 32 percent of the total, were built in the single decade between 1990 and 1999.
Which means a very large number of Hayden houses are now twenty-five to thirty-five years old, all at once. A house of that age has usually had its original appliances replaced once, sometime in the 2000s or 2010s, and that second generation is now the one that fails.
The median home here was built in 1997. About 21 percent predates 1980 and about 40 percent went up after 2000, so it sits between Coeur d’Alene's older stock and the almost entirely post-2000 housing in Post Falls and Rathdrum.
Three-quarters of homes here are owner-occupied, so on most calls the person deciding is the person paying, and the repair-or-replace answer is the whole conversation rather than a formality.

Hayden, Hayden Lake, and the second generation of appliances
Two things about this city are worth knowing before you call, and the first one is a name.
Hayden and Hayden Lake are two separate incorporated cities. Hayden is the larger one, and it wraps around most of the lake; Hayden Lake is the smaller city on the shore. Both are covered at the same rate, but they are not interchangeable, and saying which one you are in saves time in the conversation. Dalton Gardens, to the south, is a third separate city and is also covered.
The second thing is what a 1990s buildout does to an appliance twenty-five years later. A house from that decade has almost always had its original appliances replaced at least once, sometime in the 2000s or 2010s. What fails in Hayden now is usually that second generation, and second-generation machines are a different problem from original ones.
The reason is that they were bought one at a time, by different owners, from whatever was on the floor that month. So, a Hayden kitchen frequently holds four appliances of four different ages from four different manufacturers, and none of them is the same age as the house. Which is why the model number matters more here than the year the house went up, and why guessing from the address does not work.
About 8 percent of housing in the city is mobile or manufactured, slightly above the Kootenai County figure and the highest among the four Idaho cities. If that is you, say so on the phone. The repair is the same, and the rate is the same, and what changes is what gets loaded before the drive. There is more on it on the Mead page.
The longest run on the map, and what that changes
About 36 miles from the South Hill and somewhere around 45 to 50 minutes out on I-90 to the US-95 exit and then north. That is the longest run of the fourteen communities with a page here.
The distance does not change the price
What it does not change is the price. In his own words, the rate is the same here as in Spokane, on the service call and on the repair that follows. There is no distance surcharge, no minimum job size, and no separate Idaho rate. What it does change is how much a phone call is worth. And on a long drive for a repair that is not worth doing, you hear that before anyone gets in a van rather than after.
Scheduling, not price
What the drive changes is scheduling, not price. This is the longest run on the map, so whether today is realistic depends on the hour you call and where the day has already got to. You get that answer straight on the phone rather than after you have booked.
Same run, same terms
Coeur d’Alene, Hayden Lake, Dalton Gardens, Post Falls and Rathdrum sit on the same run and are covered on the same terms.
Every appliance we repair in Hayden
Everything he repairs at home in Spokane, he repairs at home in Hayden. The details for each one, including what tends to fail and whether a repair is worth it, are on the appliance page.
What is not repaired, anywhere on the map
The list above is the whole of it. What falls outside is worth stating plainly, because it saves a phone call.
Repairs only, in your home
Repairs only, and always in the home the appliance already sits in. Appliances are not installed, a new unit is not fitted into cabinetry, and nothing is reconnected after a kitchen change. Replacing that second-generation machine outright is somebody else's job; keeping it going is this one. The one exception anywhere on the site is a like-for-like garbage disposal swap.
Residential only
Residential only. In his words, no commercial at all. Houses, manufactured homes and rental properties all count the same way, and with three-quarters of Hayden owner-occupied that is most of what comes in. Commercial kitchens, restaurants and commercial refrigeration are not taken on.
No shop, no drop-off, no factory authorization
There is no shop and no drop-off, so nothing gets carried anywhere. There is also no factory authorization here, which means manufacturer-warranty repairs are not performed. If your appliance is still under its manufacturer’s warranty, you will be told to use that coverage rather than being sold a repair you could have had for free.
What people say about the work
Every review below is a real Google review, unedited. They come from across the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene service area, Idaho included.
Booking a visit in Hayden
The call comes to Sergei rather than a booking service. There is no call center and no dispatcher, so you are talking to the person who will make the drive. This page has already made the case for the model number, and this is where it pays: with the brand, the model and an accurate description of what the appliance is doing, he can often name the likely part before he sets off on the longest run on the map.
Common parts ride on the van. Anything less common is ordered in, and nothing gets ordered without your approval of the part and the price. Local counter stock for appliance parts is thin, so anything less common comes from out of town and takes a few business days.
The same person diagnoses it, prices it and does the work, on the first visit and again on the return visit if a part has to be ordered.
What the visit costs
The same $89 at the far end of the longest run as ten minutes from the shop. It covers travel, inspection and diagnostic time, goes toward the repair if you go ahead, and stands on its own if you decide not to.
Flat, upfront pricing
Once the fault is known, you get a flat price for the repair before any work starts. The price quoted is the price paid. It does not go up because the job took longer than expected or because the part was harder to reach than it looked.
30 to 90 day warranty
Parts and labor are warranted for 30 to 90 days as stated on your invoice. The full terms, exclusions included, are on the warranty page.
No weekend or holiday premium
There is no weekend or holiday premium. A Saturday, a Sunday or a holiday is billed like a weekday.
Financing & military discount
Zero-interest financing through Wisetack is available on repairs over $500 for eligible customers, and active-duty service members and veterans get 15% off labor. Terms are on the financing page.
Questions people in Hayden ask
Yes, at the same rate as everywhere else.
No. They are two separate cities, and Dalton Gardens is a third. All three are covered at the same rate, but say which one you are in when you call so the drive is planned for the right one.
No, and it is common here. Say so when you call, because sizes and hookups can differ from a standard build, and that is worth knowing before the drive rather than on arrival.
That is the most common situation in Hayden. A second-generation machine with a first significant fault is usually worth repairing; a second major failure on the same unit is usually where it stops being worth it. There is more on the repair or replace page.
Only in that it makes guessing useless. Give the model number of the one that has failed, and the conversation starts in the right place.
That is a fair question to ask over the phone, and you get a straight answer rather than a service call. There is no minimum job size.
Yes, at the same rate, along with everywhere else inside the city.
